Reawakened codes give free XP boosts, stat buffs, and cosmetic items. Codes are released during updates, milestones, and special events. Redeem them quickly because most codes have a limited number of uses.
Active Code Rewards
Current codes give XP multipliers, stat bonuses, and cosmetic unlocks. Check our Codes page for the full up-to-date list updated after every drop.
How to Redeem a Code
Open the in-game menu, tap the Codes button, type or paste the code exactly as shown, then press Confirm. Codes are case-sensitive.
Code Expiry and Limits
Most Reawakened codes expire after a set number of total redemptions or a time window. Redeem immediately when a new code drops to guarantee your reward.
Where Codes Are Announced
New codes are posted first in the official Reawakened Discord server. Follow the announcements channel to get alerts the moment new codes go live.
Reawakened has five playable classes, each with a distinct combat role, stat focus, and gate playstyle. Your class choice is one of the most important decisions at the start of every run.
Mage
High spell damage with fast cast speed. Mage clears gates quickly but has lower HP. Best for players who want maximum gate clear speed and burst damage from a safe distance.
Warrior
High base health and strong physical damage. Warrior is the easiest class for beginners because it can absorb hits from multiple enemies without losing gate runs easily.
Assassin
Explosive critical hit damage at close range. Assassin is a high-risk, high-reward class that rewards players who can dodge well and hit fast before enemies can respond.
Archer
Consistent damage output from long range with good mobility. Archer suits players who want a balance of safety and steady damage without committing to melee range.
Healer
Team healing, shields, and buff application. Healer is best in group gate runs where sustaining teammates unlocks harder difficulties faster than any DPS class could solo.
Dual Blade
Very high attack speed with moderate individual hit damage. Dual Blade rewards aggressive players who want to stack attack speed traits and overwhelm enemies with volume of hits.
Tank
Maximum HP and damage reduction with crowd control abilities. Tank is the top choice for defense path builds and anchoring group runs on the highest difficulty gates.
Shadow Monarch
A special late-game class inspired by Solo Leveling. Unlock requirements and exact mechanics are tied to high hunter rank progression milestones in the current version.
Traits are passive modifiers that stack with your class abilities and gear. Building the right trait set for your class dramatically increases gate clear speed and survivability.
Offense Traits
Damage FocusIncrease attack power, magic damage, critical hit rate, and critical damage. Recommended for Mage, Assassin, and Archer builds focused on fast gate clearing.
Defense Traits
Survivability FocusAdd health, damage reduction, and regeneration bonuses. Ideal for Warrior and Tank builds that need to sustain through heavy enemy pressure on higher rank gates.
Utility Traits
Efficiency FocusReduce ability cooldowns, boost movement speed, and increase XP and gold gain per gate run. Utility traits are a strong secondary investment for all classes.
Rare and Legendary Traits
High-Power ModifiersPowerful traits with major stat multipliers or unique effects. They appear at low probability during high-tier rerolls and are the target for optimized late-game builds.
Trait Tips
- Match your first two trait slots to your class role before experimenting with utility.
- Reroll early and often. Spending gold on traits early beats saving for gear upgrades.
- Once your build direction is clear, prioritize locking in traits that scale with your chosen path.
- Check community builds in the Discord for proven trait combinations per class.
Reawakened Progression Paths
Paths in Reawakened shape your long-term stat growth and build direction. Choosing the right path for your class early makes every gate run more efficient and every rank-up challenge more achievable.
Combat Path
Focuses on raw attack power and gate clear speed. Combat Path benefits Mage, Assassin, Archer, and Dual Blade the most. It is the fastest path for solo gate farming at all rank tiers.
Defense Path
Builds toward maximum HP scaling and damage reduction. Defense Path turns Warrior and Tank into near-unkillable gate runners for higher difficulty content where survivability is the primary barrier.
Support Path
Amplifies healing output and team-wide buff strength. Support Path is the correct choice for Healer in group runs. It makes your presence directly responsible for the team reaching harder gate tiers.
Balance Path
Spreads growth across offense, defense, and utility evenly. Balance Path is a good early choice if you are still testing different classes or have not committed to a specific build direction yet.
Faster gate clear speed
Near-immortal survivability
Team-wide damage boost
Flexible early progression
Gates are the core gameplay loop in Reawakened. Each gate rank introduces new enemy patterns, stronger bosses, and better loot. Understanding what to expect at each rank tier helps you progress without wasting gate attempts.
F-Rank Gate
BeginnerEntry-level gate with simple wave mechanics and a straightforward boss. Best for hunters at rank 0 to 10 learning the core loop. Drop pool includes basic gear and early XP boosts.
E-Rank Gate
EasySlightly faster enemy spawns and the first appearance of elite enemies between waves. Recommended for rank 10 to 20. Drops better gear and more XP than F-rank gates.
D-Rank Gate
ModerateIntroduces mechanics like timed elites and multi-phase bosses. Recommended for rank 20 to 35. The loot pool here includes mid-tier gear with trait compatibility bonuses.
C-Rank Gate
HardMultiple elite waves with a boss that has two or more phases. Recommended for rank 35 to 50. C-rank is the most efficient XP and gear source before entering endgame content.
B-Rank Gate
Very HardComplex enemy patterns and high HP enemies. B-rank gates are best cleared in groups of two or more. Drops rare gear with powerful passive effects not available in lower-rank gates.
A-Rank Gate
ExpertEndgame content with the highest stat requirements in the current version. A-rank drops include the best gear and the rarest trait-compatible equipment currently in the game.
Gear in Reawakened scales with gate rank and hunter tier. Upgrading your equipment at the right stages of progression keeps your gate clears efficient and prevents you from hitting survivability walls.
F-Rank Gear
Entry-level equipment from F-rank gates and starter codes. Provides modest stat bonuses. Replace these as soon as E-rank drops become available.
E-Rank Gear
Improved base stats from E and D-rank gate drops. Suitable for hunters in the rank 10 to 25 range. The jump from F to E gear is the most noticeable early power spike.
D-Rank Gear
Mid-tier equipment with additional trait slots that let you apply trait bonuses directly to your gear. Farmed from D and C-rank gates in the rank 20 to 40 range.
C-Rank Gear
High-stat gear from C-rank gate drops with better trait compatibility and set bonuses. This is the primary gear tier for hunters pushing into the B-rank gate difficulty.
B-Rank Gear
Endgame equipment for advanced hunters. B-rank gear has powerful passive effects and high base stats that significantly increase your survivability and damage output on expert content.
Cosmetic Gear
Visual-only items available from codes and special events. Cosmetics have no effect on stats or gate performance but are a popular reward type in the Roblox economy.
Efficient leveling in Reawakened means knowing which gates to farm at each rank tier and using XP boost codes at the right time. Pushing into gates that are too hard too early wastes time and resources.
Rank 0 to 15: F-Gate Loop
Run F-rank gates repeatedly until your gear is fully upgraded from F-rank drops. Use any active XP boost codes before this phase. This stage should feel smooth and fast.
Rank 15 to 30: E and D Gates
Move to E-rank gates when your gear is upgraded. Transition to D-rank gates when E-rank drops stop being upgrades. The first rank-up challenge lands somewhere in this range.
Rank 30 to 45: C-Gate Farming
C-rank gates are the most efficient XP and gear source for the mid-game. Group runs here significantly cut clear times. Target C-rank until your gear is fully upgraded for this tier.
Rank 45+: B and A Gate Push
B-rank and above is endgame content. Join a group for B-rank clears and invest in your best available build before attempting A-rank. These gates have the rarest drops and highest XP payouts.
Every gate in Reawakened ends with a boss encounter. Understanding each boss type helps you prepare the right build, avoid one-shot mechanics, and farm efficiently for the drops you need.
Gate Guardian
The final boss of every gate. Each rank tier has a different guardian variant with increasing HP, damage output, and phase complexity. Defeating the guardian is required to complete the gate and claim your loot.
Shadow Monarch Spawn
A powerful mid-gate elite enemy that mimics the Shadow Monarch aesthetic from the game theme. Has a one-shot ability with a visible wind-up. Dodge it or use a defensive cooldown.
Cursed Spirit
A fast-moving enemy that applies a damage-over-time debuff on hit. Prioritize Cursed Spirits quickly to prevent debuff stacking, especially on lower-health classes like Assassin and Mage.
Dungeon Golem
A heavily armored gate enemy with damage reduction and slow but heavy attacks. Golems appear in D-rank gates and above. Use abilities with armor-piercing effects for faster clears.
Undead Warrior
A common gate enemy with above-average HP and predictable melee attacks. Undead Warriors are straightforward but appear in large groups in higher rank gates, creating pressure through volume.
Ranked Challenge Boss
A special boss encountered during rank-up challenges only. Has more complex mechanics than standard gate bosses and requires a build specifically tuned for the challenge tier you are attempting.
Gate Boss Phase 2
Some bosses in C-rank and above enter a second phase after dropping below 50% HP. Phase 2 includes new attack patterns and often a temporary stat increase. Stay mobile during the transition.
Start your journey in Reawakened by mastering the hunter loop: enter gates, collect loot, upgrade your class, and climb the ranks. Every system builds on the previous one, so understanding the basics early makes everything else smoother.
Choose Your Class
Your class defines your combat role. Mage deals fast magic damage, Warrior absorbs hits as a front-liner, Assassin bursts targets at close range, Archer attacks safely from a distance, and Healer supports teammates. Beginners should start with Warrior or Mage.
Enter Your First Gate
Gates are timed dungeons with wave-based combat and a final boss. Start on F-rank gates to learn the mechanics. Clear all waves before the timer runs out and defeat the gate boss to earn gear and XP.
Reroll Your Traits
Traits are passive modifiers that stack with your class. After your first gate run, spend your gold rerolling traits that do not match your class. Offense traits benefit Mage and Assassin, defense traits benefit Warrior, and utility traits help all classes.
Pick a Progression Path
Paths shape your long-term growth. Choose Combat Path for faster gate clears, Defense Path for higher survivability, or Balance Path if you are still exploring. Stick to one path through your first 20 levels.
Farm Gates for Gear
Repeat gates at your current rank tier until your gear feels strong. Each gate difficulty has its own loot pool. Move to the next rank tier only when your gear can handle the jump in enemy strength.
Complete Your Rank-Up Challenge
When you reach the level cap for your current hunter rank, a rank-up challenge unlocks. This is a harder gate with stricter conditions. Completing it promotes you to the next rank tier and unlocks new gate difficulties.
Quick Tips
- Join the official Discord at discord.gg/reawakened for live code alerts and community guides.
- Redeem all active codes before your first gate run to get an XP and stat head start.
- Traits compound over many gate runs. Rerolling early saves time in the long run.
- Group runs clear gates faster and split the timer pressure. Use the in-game party system for B-rank and above.
The strongest Reawakened builds combine the right class, trait set, path, and gear for a specific purpose. Each build below is optimized for its intended gate role and tested across multiple rank tiers.
Mage DPS Build
Mage class with Combat Path and stacked magic damage offense traits. Best gate clear speed in the current version for solo farming. Use C-rank gear with trait compatibility bonuses for maximum output.
Warrior Tank Build
Warrior class with Defense Path and full defense trait investment. Near-unkillable in B-rank gates. Ideal for sustained farming without losing gate runs on difficult content.
Assassin Burst Build
Assassin class with Combat Path and critical hit offense traits. Extremely high burst damage per second but requires good dodge timing to compensate for low HP. High ceiling, high risk.
Archer Sustain Build
Archer class with Balance Path and a mix of offense and utility traits. Safe and consistent damage from range. Best for players who want steady performance without high skill requirements.
Healer Group Build
Healer class with Support Path and utility traits focused on heal strength and buff duration. Unlocks harder gate difficulties in group runs by keeping the party alive through boss phase two transitions.
Tank Gate Build
Tank class with Defense Path and full health scaling traits. Maximum durability with crowd control. Best used as a group anchor for A-rank attempts where boss damage can one-shot lighter classes.

Playtest Launch
REAWAKENED officially launched as a playtest on Roblox. First set of classes, gates, traits, and the core hunter progression system went live.
Code System Added
The in-game redeem code system was added, allowing players to claim XP boosts, stat buffs, and cosmetic rewards directly from the main menu.
Class Balance Pass
Mage and Warrior damage output adjusted. Assassin critical hit rate and Archer attack speed tuned for better class balance across gate difficulty tiers.
New Gate Rank Added
A higher rank gate tier was introduced with a new boss design, updated enemy wave patterns, and an expanded loot pool for the endgame hunter segment.
Reawakened Early Tips
These are the highest-value actions for new Reawakened players in the first session. Following this order avoids the most common early mistakes and gives you a meaningful head start.
Pick Warrior or Mage First
If you have no preference, start with Warrior for the easiest survival experience or Mage for the fastest gate clear speed. Both classes scale well into mid-game and have straightforward stat priorities.
Redeem All Active Codes Before Your First Gate
Check the Codes page and redeem every active code before entering your first gate. XP boost codes active during your first run give you a compounding advantage through the early rank tiers.
Clear Gates Fully Before Moving Up
Run your current gate difficulty until your gear is completely upgraded from that tier. Jumping to harder gates with under-level gear wastes gate attempts and slows your overall progression.
Invest in Traits Early
Use gold to reroll traits after every few gate runs rather than saving up for gear. Two well-matched traits make every gate significantly easier, and the benefit compounds across all your future runs.

Reawakened Fishing Guide
Activity Guide
Fishing is more than a side activity in Reawakened. It powers up pets, creates early gold opportunities, and can produce gear that outperforms ordinary dungeon drops.
Get a pole and find a fishing hole
Buy a fishing pole from a town vendor and keep it in your inventory. In Grove, the easiest visible fishing spot is the golden sparkling hole just off the dock at the pond in the northern part of town.
- A fishing pole only needs to be in your inventory to enable fishing
- Fishing holes appear in town and throughout dungeon levels
- Town pond is the simplest place to learn the interaction
Cast, watch, and set the hook fast
Left-click the fishing spot to cast. When the exclamation point appears above your character, hit Set the Hook quickly for a better chance to land the fish.
- You do not need a separate fishing skill tree to start
- Reaction timing matters more than combat stats
- Quick hook timing improves consistency
Know why fishing matters
Fish can dramatically change your pet's attributes and resistances, which makes early dungeon runs easier. Fishing can also produce strong loot and gems.
- Pet transformations are the biggest early power spike
- Fishing is a practical gold-making route
- Selling yellow drops from fishing is a reliable early economy loop
Learn the four fish size tiers
Fish are divided into four size tiers, and the size controls how long your pet transformation lasts.
- Fingerling: 120 seconds
- Small: 300 seconds
- Lunker: 600 seconds
- Flawless: lasts until the next transformation replaces it
Remember the most useful transformation examples
Different fish push pets into different forms with different stat packages and resistances.
- Archerfish transforms a pet into a Dire Wolf
- Bass transforms a pet into a Unicorn
- Dory transforms a pet into a Salamander with 100% Fire Resist
- Dogfish returns the pet to its original form
Use fishing for progression goals too
Fishing is tied into completion goals, not just utility. Reawakened includes the Master Angler achievement for catching every fish type.
- Useful for collection-focused players
- Supports pet experimentation
- Adds long-tail completion value beyond raw gold
Reawakened Side Quests Guide
Progression Guide
Side quests are simple on the surface, but route management matters. Taking the right quests on the right floor saves time and avoids wasted exploration.
Quest slots and NPC behavior
You can hold up to 3 side quests at a time. NPCs with available side quests will not tell you what they want unless you have an open quest slot.
- Maximum of 3 active side quests
- Free slots matter because they reveal more town quest options
- Check town NPCs before committing to a long dungeon stretch
The three side quest patterns
Side quests repeatedly use three templates: recover a lost item on a level, kill a monster and its minions, or kill the monster that stole an item and recover it.
- Lost item quest
- Kill target monster and minions
- Recover stolen item from a target monster group
Take quests for the floor you are on
Accept side quests only for the floor you are currently playing. That keeps objectives aligned with your immediate dungeon path instead of scattering them across different levels.
- Floor-by-floor play is cleaner than stockpiling mismatched quests
- Helps reduce backtracking
- Keeps rewards flowing steadily while leveling
Do not fully clear a floor too early
Do not fully explore a floor before finishing that floor's side quests. Quest objectives can appear in unexplored sections.
- Finish side quest objectives before full exploration
- Prioritize quest markers and unexplored branches first
- This is the main routing mistake new players make
What side quests reward
Side quests provide fame, experience, and gold. They also help pace early progression better than random wandering alone.
- Fame supports long-term progression
- Experience helps smooth level gains
- Gold supports shops, gambling, and utility purchases
Refresh and edge-case tricks
Available quests can be refreshed by returning to level 1 and coming back up, or by saving and exiting and then returning.
- Quest list refresh: return to level 1 and back, or save and exit
- Cancelable quest items can sometimes be kept
- Always compare a quest reward against the item itself
Reawakened Weapons Guide
Gear Guide
Weapon choice is tied to speed, stat requirements, and the specific unique item pool. Elite and Legendary versions scale based on fame rank, making late-game weapon access a real progression goal.
Sword
FastestExample: Stinging Needle
Fast early sword with Attack +40 and Damage Bonus +4. Community build advice recommends sword-class weapons and dual wielding for early damage efficiency.
Axe
FastExample: Le Chop
Grants Critical Strike +5, Shield Battle +5, Magic Drop Rate +5, and Gold Drop Rate +20% — ideal for loot-focused builds.
Bow
NormalExample: Sentinel of the Glade
Bow/Crossbow Skill +5, Damage +7%, Walk Speed +10%, and Dexterity +10% make this a strong ranged unique for mobile builds.
Crossbow
NormalExample: The Pincushion
Comes with Strength +6, Fire Resistance +40, and Knockback +2 — a strong choice for players wanting survivability alongside ranged damage.
Hammer
SlowExample: Leadro's Finality
Heavy early option with Damage Bonus Undead +10, flat Damage +7, and Magic Resistance +3% for tanky dungeon builds.
Spear
NormalExample: Shivering Tines
A clean example of spear scaling with Dexterity rather than raw Strength — best for builds that prioritize agility over brute force.
Staff
SlowExample: Crushbar
Hybrid staff with Attack Magic +4, Charm Magic +4, Mana Stolen +15%, and Attack +20 — covers both magic offense and mana sustain.
Elite & Legendary
VariesExample: Variant System
Elite doubles base stats, Legendary quadruples them. Legendary variants require higher Renown rank — fame directly gates late-game weapon access.
Reawakened Spells Guide
Magic Guide
Spells are divided into Attack, Defense, and Charm lines. Utility spells such as Town Portal, Identify, and Mental Map are just as important as raw damage for efficient play.
Attack Spells
Direct damage and control
Attack Magic starts with efficient early spells and scales into stronger burst tools. Slow and Fireball are core early purchases.
- Slow — slows target to 60% speed for 10 seconds
- Fireball — projectile for 2-7 damage plus skill scaling
- Frost — two ice projectiles and a 40% slow for 5 seconds
- Lightning Strike — instant electric damage
- Meteor Strike — area detonation in a 20-foot radius
Defense Spells
Buffs, healing, resistance, and survival
Defense Magic contains the sustain and speed tools most players rely on throughout the game. Haste and Dervish are standout utility options.
- Minor Heal — heals the caster for 20 HP plus scaling
- Spectral Armor — raises defense and reduces damage taken
- Haste — increases speed for 15 seconds
- Battle Fog — doubles Attack Rating while lowering Defense Rating
- Dervish — increases Attack Speed by 80% for 10 seconds
- Reflection — reflects 20% of damage back to attackers
Charm Spells
Utility, crowd control, and map tools
Charm Magic covers identification, map tools, and crowd control. Town Portal and Mental Map are essential for efficient dungeon routing.
- Identify — identifies items, scales with skill level
- Charm Monster — charms monsters of level 6 and below for 20 seconds
- Mental Map — reveals a dungeon level from level 2 or deeper
- Town Portal — opens a portal from level 2 or deeper
- Dispel Summoned Monster — removes summoned creatures
Summon Spells
Companion spells with scaling duration
Summons scale with Charm skill and last 1 minute plus 10 seconds per skill level. The active summon cap is 6 creatures at once.
- Summon Spider — summons 3 level 1 spiders
- Summon Skeleton — summons 1 level 4 skeleton
- Mystic Blade — summons 1 level 7 cursed sword
- Summon Timberwolf — summons 2 level 7 timberwolves
- Summon Wyvern — summons 1 level 28 venomous wyvern
Hotkeys and Spell Handling
Spell management and key binding
Once a spell is learned, expand the spell list from the HUD and bind spells directly to function keys for quick access during combat.
- Hover a learned spell and press F1-F12 to bind it
- Rotate buffs, heals, and utility without opening menus
- Especially useful for Town Portal, Identify, and core combat buffs

Reawakened Fame Guide
Progression System
Fame feeds your Renown progression, and Renown directly changes what you can equip and how quickly your build grows. Characters that ignore Fame usually feel undergeared once item requirements start rising.
How You Earn Fame
Quests + unique or boss enemies
Quest completions award scaling Gold, XP, and Fame. Fame also comes from killing unique and boss-type enemies, so normal floor clears and quest chains naturally build it over time.
What Renown Gives You
+4 skill points per Renown level
Every Renown increase grants four extra skill points. That makes Fame progression a direct power source, not just a gear requirement check.
Where to Buy It
Rollo the Minstrel
Rollo can increase your Fame for gold. That lets you buy your way into the next Renown breakpoint when late-game weapons start asking for more than your current progression provides.
Why Gear Gets Locked
Elite and Legendary gear
Higher-class items require Fame or Renown thresholds. If you see stronger gear with a requirement wall, the answer is usually more Fame, more gold for Rollo, or both.
Why Shops Improve
Fame + level raise item quality
The better your Fame and level, the better items you find in stores and from monsters. This is one reason late-game gearing feels much smoother once Renown catches up.
How Difficulty Changes the Equation
Adventurer → Superior, Hero → Exceptional, Legend → Flawless
Higher difficulties raise the item quality ceiling and make the Fame mechanic more important. On harder settings, Renown stops being optional very quickly.
Reawakened Endgame Guide
Late-Game Route
The strongest late-game path is built around sockets, enchanting, gold conversion, and Renown breakpoints. Once you hit the first real spike, the rest of the run becomes a controlled upgrade loop.
Start from a build that scales cleanly
S-tier dual-wield melee or A-tier attack magic mageDual-wield melee is the easiest and strongest endgame shell, while attack magic mage is the main high-damage alternative. Both scale well once buffs, enchantments, and better weapons come online.
Keep the three core buffs running
Haste + Battle Fog + DervishThese buffs are the backbone of the strongest physical route. Haste boosts attack and movement speed, Battle Fog raises attack rating, and Dervish adds a huge attack speed spike.
Treat level 25+ as the first real power breakpoint
Mid-game enchanting unlockEnchantments become much more valuable once you are around level 25 and vendors begin selling higher-cost gear bases. This is where endgame prep truly starts.
Fix sustain before chasing pure damage
Around 20% total sustain from socketsSuperior peridots are the early socket priority for sustain and superior jades are the follow-up for attack speed. Once sustain is solved, your clear speed rises sharply.
Use enchanting as your gold engine

Convert gold into Renown and weapon access

Take the second spike at level 50
Re-enchant core gearEnchantments stop scaling at level 50. That makes level 50 the clean moment to revisit your main gear and push a second major jump in damage and survivability.
Chase the best weapon bases by game

Do not waste slots on bad stats
Avoid knockbackKnockback lowers real DPS by pushing enemies out of your attack flow. Endgame gear wants sockets, damage, sustain, speed, and clean stat lines instead.
Reawakened Character Import Guide
Save Planning
Reawakened supports a clean forward-import path inside the bundled series. The important rule is simple: move upward in release order and plan your inventory before each transfer.
Know the package you are planning around
The bundle contains all four games: FATE, Undiscovered Realms, The Traitor Soul, and The Cursed King. Your import route should follow that bundled release order.
Start in FATE 1 if you want one continuous hero
The recommended route is to begin with FATE and carry the same character forward through the rest of the bundle. This gives the cleanest upgrade path and avoids getting stuck behind a one-way transfer rule later.
Import only moves forward
You can move a hero from FATE 1 to FATE 2 and keep going forward through the series, but you cannot move that hero backward into an earlier game. Once you advance, treat it as a one-way ladder.
Most of your gear travels with you
When you move to the next game in the series, your character and items carry over. The exception is the move from The Traitor Soul to The Cursed King, where only your hero, pet, and what is inside the inventory bag come with you.
Pack your inventory before major transfers
Because the Traitor Soul to Cursed King move only keeps bag-carried items, this is the point where inventory discipline matters most. Put the gear you truly want on your hero, pet, or inventory before making the jump.
Do not plan around old original saves
Characters from the original pre-remaster games cannot be transferred into the remaster at launch. The import system to plan around is the forward carry path inside the remastered bundle itself.
Reawakened Heirloom Guide
Legacy System
After beating a campaign in Reawakened, you can retire your hero and create a descendant. During retirement you choose one item to pass down as a family heirloom, and its bonuses are increased. Planning sockets, gems, and future generations before you retire makes the system far more powerful.
Retire after clearing the campaign
Retirement becomes available after beating the game. When you retire, your hero becomes an ancestor and you start the next run as a descendant instead of continuing with the same active character.
Pass down one item only
You choose a single heirloom item when retiring, so every slot choice matters. Pick a piece with bonuses you want to feel from the very start of a new run.
Use sockets before you lock the item in
Heirlooms gain stronger written bonuses, and socketed bonuses matter as part of that plan. Socket strategy is especially valuable because gem-boosted effects interact well with heirloom growth over multiple generations.
Know the core stat rule
Heirloom bonuses are increased by 25% each time the item is passed down. Even a small socketed bonus like +1 All Skills can round up to +2 after inheritance, which is why compact bonus-rich items scale so well.
Plan for multiple generations
A strong heirloom is built for repeat use, not just one descendant. Repeated inheritance compounds the item's current value, so long-term pieces with flexible stats, useful sockets, and broad build value outperform short-lived stopgaps.
Understand what happens to the old hero
Once retired, that hero is no longer your active character. In The Cursed King, the ancestor can later be hired again, but the normal expectation is that retirement is a handoff to the next generation.

UI optimized for small screens
Many UI changes were made because the game was optimized for console controllers, Switch, and Steam Deck.
Controls and Layout
Steam Deck layout
Steam Deck uses the same controller layout shown for gamepad play on PC.
Button prompts
Controller prompts are shown as Xbox-style buttons.
In-game rebinding
Controls cannot be remapped inside the game menus.
Where to check inputs
Use the in-game controls menu first, then adjust anything extra through Steam input if needed.
Known Quirks on Deck and Controller
Small-text issue
At 1280 x 800, text can be harder to read because there is no in-game UI size option.
Menu cursor drift
Steam Deck players report the cursor can overshoot menu targets when using the trackpads.
Targeting feedback
Target circles do not appear on enemies when using a controller.
Ranged and spell aiming
Lock-on can engage very late, especially for spell or ranged play.
NPC interaction
Close-together NPCs can be fidgety to target — walk away and approach again facing the NPC you want.
Useful Fixes and Habits
Steam input workaround
Use the launch option: SteamDeck=0 %command% --force-grab-cursor
Controller remap route
Use the Steam Deck controller configuration menu rather than looking for an in-game remap menu.
Build choice tip
Melee and general progression feel cleaner on controller than precision-heavy ranged or attack-spell setups.
Portal positioning
When using a town portal, face away from staircases or traders to avoid awkward clipping near interactable NPCs.
